When 2021 Harley Paynter announced that she reopened her recruitment, college programs had to shift their recruiting boards. One of the top rising seniors in the state, Paynter is primed for big final season. With such a productive player now available, it won't be long until college coaches are adding her to their short list.
Throughout her high school career, Paynter has received a number of accolades. This season alone, she was named to the Daily Independent All-Area Team and Lexington Herald-Leader All State Third Team. Paynter was also recognized as the Daily Independent Player of the Year. On February 13, 2020, she surpassed the 2,000 point mark with a 30-point outing.
When asked to describe her game, the answer was pretty simple, "I can score it, pass it, defend it, and rebound it." Paynter is a multifaceted player than can affect the game in a multitude of ways. She is a hard working, all around competitor who isn't afraid of the challenges that may come at the next level. All in all, when looking for the next program to call home, Paynter wants a college basketball experience where she can be competitive, have fun, and make life-long friendships.
